Plan

Build a Craiova itinerary

Tell it how long you have, when you are coming and what you came for — the Belle Époque centre, Brâncuși, the parks, food, the Christmas market. It builds a day-by-day plan that gives each day one area — the centre and its museums, Romanescu and the green south, or one direction out into Oltenia — which is the difference between a good day here and a day spent on the road.

Pace

Each day stays in one area on purpose. The centre is walkable, but Târgu Jiu, Horezu, Segarcea and the Danube each sit in a different direction, 29 to 134 km out — and Gorj and Vâlcea are two hours apart on opposite sides of the compass, so pairing them is four hours of driving for two half-days. The Christmas market appears only between 13 November and 3 January; the terraces and the Danube only when it is warm enough for them.
