What it is
Craiova's largest housing district, west of the centre, and the place the city does its weekend shopping. Promenada Mall Craiova is here with its food court, FRYDAY holds a 4.8 from over four thousand reviews, and Pizza Peter's and Restaurant Ambasador are the sit-down options. Fantasy Park is the indoor play centre — worth knowing about on a wet afternoon with children, and see the parks page for the outdoor version.
Bacolux Craiovița, Restaurant Craiovița and Casa Craiova Nuova are the beds, and they are the cheapest in the city.
Who it suits
Families on a budget, and anyone whose trip is really about the Oltenia day trips rather than Craiova itself — the western exits towards Segarcea and the Danube start from this side. Coffee is better than the district's reputation: Ayan, Osso for sugar-free cakes, Vibe Caffe.
Who it does not
Anyone on a short trip. It is twenty minutes from Calea Unirii and there is no reason for a visitor to cross the city in that direction unless the mall is the reason.
